John Pugh was commissioned to paint his first mural entitled �Academe� on Taylor Hall in 1980 on the Chico State University campus. This Trompe l�oiel style brought him international recognition and he now paints murals all over the world. This building and mural was just demolished (Dec 2013) to make way for a new building. John Pugh has offered to come back and paint the same mural on the new building when it is completed.
