The Honey Run Covered Bridge was built in 1886 to connect Butte Creek Canyon with Paradise. The bridge was the only three span Pratt-style truss bridge remaining in the United States. It was in continuous use until one of the sections was damaged in 1965
and was slated to be torn down. The community recognized it as a jewel of Butte County and quickly formed the Honey Run Covered Bridge Association to save it from demolition. Since then, it has been the heart and soul of Butte Creek Canyon and enjoyed by many over the decades.
On November 8, 2018 the Honey Run Covered Bridge was destroyed in the Camp Fire; the most devastating fire in California history. The people of Butte County mourn the loss of this magnificent monument but its memory will live on in pictures.
